The boat trip lasts about three hours and takes you out to one of the coral reefs off the island, where the crew gives a safety briefing and explains the basics of snorkeling before you get in the water. You then have around 45 minutes at the reef to swim among the colorful fish and other marine life that live there, with snorkel gear, life jackets and buoyancy compensators provided and a certified professional instructor on hand. The staff also share what makes the area's ecosystem so fragile. Back on board, the crew hands out cards showing the local fish so you can point out the species you spotted. If you would rather stay out of the water, you can relax on deck, enjoy the gentle sea breeze and keep an eye out for sea turtles and frigate birds. Water, soda, beer or wine are served on board, with alcohol served after snorkeling.
